The Fastener Solutions Division of Avery Dennison is a worldwide manufacturer of plastic fastening systems used in the automotive, apparel, retail, industrial and packaging industries. Our three-shift injection molding and extrusion operation is located in Fitchburg, MA. The Fastener Solutions Division is ISO/TS 16949 certified.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairs, troubleshooting, and modifying machinery and mechanical equipment such as injection molding machines, auxiliary and assembly equipment. Conducts preventative maintenances tasks to Injection Molding machines. This position reports into Maintenance Supervisor. The shift for this position is 11:00 pm - 7:00 am.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Activities may include, but are not limited to:
Mold changes and machine setups are 50% of the tasks/time.
Maintenance related tasks will take 50% of the time:
Perform preventative maintenance tasks
Troubleshoots and repairs Manufacturing equipment when breakdown and failure occurs.
Documents all repairs and work on a daily basis.
Disseminates information at shift change, reports all problems to Team Leader and/or Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner.
Responsible for the care and maintenance of molding lab equipment
Trains other mechanics on proper repair techniques, equipment systems operation and safety.
Installs, maintains, repairs and adjusts electrical systems for production equipment.
Observes proper safety guidelines during the performance of all assigned duties and tasks.
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of the machinery.
Assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
Installs, programs and/or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or other secondary equipment with programmable controllers.
Keeps work area neat, clean and organized.
Completes all other duties or tasks that may be assigned or required of the position.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
High School Diploma or GED required. Vocational training preferred.
Must have 3-5 years working on injection molding machines and related auxiliary equipment.
Must have experience in pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and reading blue prints.
Experience in use of welding and machining tools preferred.
Proven skill working with people to achieve objectives in teamwork environment.
Must be able to work when kneeling, bending, twisting or standing for long periods of time.
Must have the ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs using crane assists
Strong communication skills.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Vocational training preferred.
